Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 and the curse shall be on you till the Day of Judgement!" 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 But not such of them as are Thy bondmen single-hearted. 40 Said He, 'This is for Me a straight path: 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44
