And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?" 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 until the day of a known time." 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." 44
