When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. 74 Indeed in that are signs for those who discern. 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
