And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Indeed in that are signs for those who discern. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
