Al-Hijjr 5 of 6
AND WHEN the messengers [of God] came to the house of Lot, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
