And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said: forbade we not thee against the worlds? 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
