And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 So set out thou with thy house hold in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs, and let not one of you look back, and pass whither ye are commanded. 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 And thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at the time of sunrise, 73 Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Verily, herein lies a message indeed for all who believe [in God]. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
