So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 [Lout (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (to marry lawfully), if you must act (so)." 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 And thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at the time of sunrise, 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
