AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not even cast your eyes towards the worldly goods We have granted to different kinds of people, nor grieve over the state they are in, but turn your loving attention to the believers instead, 88 And say: "I am a distinct warner," 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 As to what they did. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty. 99
