▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 We have given you the seven dual (verses, Al Fatihah) and the Mighty Holy Reading (Koran). 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And go on worshipping your Lord till the certainty (of death) comes upon you. 99
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
