People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 By thy Lord, We will question them all. 92 For all their deeds. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99
