AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
