And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers. 80 We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
