The Bee (Al-nahl)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The decree of God is at hand, so do not seek to hasten it. Holy is He, and exalted far above what they associate with Him. 1 He causes the angels to descend with this divine inspiration, [bestowed] at His behest upon whomever He wills of His servants: "Warn [all human beings] that there is no deity save Me: be, therefore, conscious of Me!" 2 He created the heavens and the earth with reason. Too glorious and high is He for what they associate with Him. 3 He created man out of a [mere] drop of sperm: yet he shows himself to be openly contentious! 4 And He creates cattle: you derive warmth from them, and [various other] uses; and from them you obtain food; 5 And wherein is beauty for you, when ye bring them home, and when ye take them out to pasture. 6 They carry your loads to a land which you could not otherwise reach except by painful toil to oneself. Your Lord is the Clement, the Most Merciful. 7 And (He has created) horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and use for show; and He has created (other) things of which ye have no knowledge. 8 And upon Allah is the responsibility to explain the Straight Path (i.e. Islamic Monotheism for mankind i.e. to show them legal and illegal, good and evil things, etc. so, whosoever accepts the guidance, it will be for his own benefit and whosoever goes astray, it will be for his own destruction), but there are ways that turn aside (such as Paganism, Judaism, Christianity, etc.). And had He willed, He would have guided you all (mankind). 9
