It is He who sends down water from heaven, which provides drink for you and brings forth trees on which your herds feed. 10 [and] by virtue thereof He causes crops to grow for you, and olive trees, and date palms, and grapes, and all [other] kinds of fruit: in this, behold, there is a message indeed for people who think! 11 And He has made subservient for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are made subservient by His commandment; most surely there are signs in this for a people who ponder; 12 And what He has multiplied for you in the earth is of various hues; surely, in that there is a sign for a nation who remember. 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea (to you), that you eat thereof fresh tender meat (i.e. fish), and that you bring forth out of it ornaments to wear. And you see the ships ploughing through it, that you may seek (thus) of His Bounty (by transporting the goods from place to place) and that you may be grateful. 14 And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided, 15 And landmarks (too), and by the star they find a way. 16 Is the One who can create equal to the one who cannot create anything? Why, then, will you not consider? 17 If you tried to count God's blessings, you would never be able to number them. God is ever forgiving and most merciful. 18 God knows all that you conceal and all that you reveal. 19 And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created; 20 They are dead, not living; and they do not know when they will be raised (to life). 21
