When We substitute one revelation for another,- and Allah knows best what He reveals (in stages),- they say, "Thou art but a forger": but most of them understand not. 101 Say: "Holy inspiration has brought it down from thy Sustainer by stages, setting forth the truth, so that it might give firmness unto those who have attained to faith, and provide guidance and a glad tiding unto all who have surrendered themselves to God." 102 Yet We know what they say: "It is only a man who instructs him." The speech of the man they imply is obscure while this is clear Arabic. 103 Those who do not believe in the words of God are verily not guided by God. For them is severe punishment. 104 Those who do not believe in the miracles of God invent lies and they are liars. 105 No one verbally denounces his faith in God - unless he is forced - but his heart is confident about his faith. But those whose breasts have become open to disbelief will be subject to the wrath of God and will suffer a great torment. 106 That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allah does not guide the disbelieving people. 107 These are the ones upon whose hearts and hearing and sight God has set a seal. It is they who are heedless, 108 Truly it is they, they who in the life to come shall be the losers! 109 ۞ But verily thy Lord,- to those who leave their homes after trials and persecutions,- and who thereafter strive and fight for the faith and patiently persevere,- Thy Lord, after all this is oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. 110
