They will question thee concerning the Spirit. Say: 'The Spirit is of the bidding of my Lord. You have been given of knowledge nothing except a little.' 85 If We willed, We could take away that We have revealed to thee, then thou wouldst find none thereover to guard thee against Us, 86 But on account of mercy from your Lord-- surely His grace to you is abundant. 87 Say: "If all mankind and all invisible beings would come together with a view to producing the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce its like even though they were to exert all their strength in aiding one another!" 88 Indeed, We have set forth for mankind in this Koran every kind of parable, yet most people refuse all except disbelief. 89 And they say, "We will not believe you until you break open for us from the ground a spring. 90 "Or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth in their midst abundantly; 91 or thou cause the skies to fall down upon us in smithereens, as thou hast threatened, or [till] thou bring God and the angels face to face before us, 92 or that there come to be for you a house of gold, or that you ascend to the sky - though we shall not believe in your ascension (to the sky) - until you bring down a book for us that we can read." Say to them, (O Muhammad): "Holy is my Lord! Am I anything else than a human being, who bears a Message (from Allah)?" 93
