And recall what time Musa said unto his page: I shall not cease until I reach the confluence of the two seas, or I shall go on for ages. 60 But when they came to the point where the two met, they forgot their fish, which made its way burrowing into the sea. 61 So when they had gone beyond that place, Moosa said to his assistant, “Bring our breakfast – we have indeed faced great exertion in this journey of ours.” 62 Said [the servant]: "Wouldst thou believe it? When we betook ourselves to that rock for a rest, behold, I forgot about the fish - and none but Satan made me thus forget it - and it took its way into the sea! How strange!" 63 [Musa (Moses)] said: "That is what we have been seeking." So they went back retracing their footsteps. 64 So they found one of Our servants, on whom We had bestowed Mercy from Ourselves and whom We had taught knowledge from Our own Presence. 65 Musa (Moses) said to him (Khidr) "May I follow you so that you teach me something of that knowledge (guidance and true path) which you have been taught (by Allah)?" 66 He said, “You will never be able to patiently stay with me.” 67 How could you be patient in matters beyond your knowledge?" 68 Moses replied: "You shall find me, if Allah wills, patient; and I shall not disobey you in anything." 69 He said to Moses, "If you will follow me, do not ask me about anything until I tell you the story about it." 70
