AND THEY will ask thee about the Two-Horned One. Say: "I will convey unto you something by which he ought to be remembered." 83 We established him in the land, and We gave him a way to everything; 84 With these he traveled 85 until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and nearby he found a nation. 'ThulKarnain' We said, 'you must either punish them or show them kindness' 86 He said, "As for one who wrongs, we will punish him. Then he will be returned to his Lord, and He will punish him with a terrible punishment. 87 And as for him who believes and does good, he shall have goodly reward, and We will speak to him an easy word of Our command. 88 Then he followed another way, 89 to the East where he found the sun rising upon a people whom We had exposed to its rays. 90 So, We encompassed in knowledge what was with him. 91 Then he followed a way 92 Until when he reached (a place) between the two mountains, he found on that side of them a people who could hardly understand a word. 93 They said: O Zulqarnain! surely Gog and Magog make mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute on condition that you should raise a barrier between us and them 94 He said: "That (wealth, authority and power) in which my Lord had established me is better (than your tribute). So help me with strength (of men), I will erect between you and them a barrier. 95 bring me blocks of iron." Then, when he had filled the gap between the mountain sides [he said], "Now blow on the fire with your bellows." When the iron blocks were red with heat, he said, "Bring me molten brass to pour on them." 96 Thereafter they could neither scale it, nor could they pierce it. 97 Dhu al-Qarnayn said: "This is a mercy from my Lord: but when the time of my Lord's promise shall come, He will level the rampart with the ground. My Lord's promise always comes true." 98 ۞ AND ON that Day" We shall [call forth all mankind and] leave them to surge like waves [that dash] against one another; and the trumpet [of judgment] will be blown, and We shall gather them all together. 99 We will fully expose the view of hell on that Day to the disbelievers, 100 Whose eyes were veiled against My warning, and they could not hear. 101
