WITH ALL THIS, man [often] says, "What! Once I am dead, shall I again be brought forth alive?" 66 Will not man remember that We created him aforetime, when he was nothing? 67 By thy Lord, then, We shall surely gather them and the satans; thereafter We shall surely bring them round Hell, kneeling. 68 Then We shall carry off from every group those who were most stubborn in their opposition to the Gracious One, 69 for, indeed, We know best as to which of them is most deserving of the fires of hell. 70 and there is not one of you but shall pass through it: a decree from your Lord which must be fulfilled. 71 Then We shall rescue those who kept from evil, and leave the evil-doers crouching there. 72 And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, those who disbelieve (the rich and strong among the pagans of Quraish who live a life of luxury) say to those who believe (the weak, poor companions of Prophet Muhammad SAW who have a hard life): "Which of the two groups (i.e. believers and disbelievers) is best in (point of) position and as regards station (place of council for consultation)." 73 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, who were more imposing in respect of gear and outward seeming! 74 Say: 'Whosoever is in error, let the All-merciful prolong his term for him! Till, when they see that they were threatened, whether the chastisement, or the Hour, then they shall surely know who is worse in place, and who is weaker in hosts.' 75 And Allah increases in guidance those who walk aright [true believers in the Oneness of Allah who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden), and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]. And the righteous good deeds that last, are better with your Lord, for reward and better for resort. 76 Have you, then, seen him who disbelieves in Our communications and says: I shall certainly be given wealth and children? 77 Has he obtained knowledge of the Unseen, or has he taken a covenant with the Most Compassionate Lord? 78 Nay! We shall record what he says, and We shall increase his torment (in the Hell); 79 All that he speaks of will belong to Us, and he will come into Our presence all alone. 80 And they have taken gods besides Allah, that they should be to them a source of strength; 81 No! Those "gods" will deny their worship of them and will be against them opponents [on the Day of Judgement]. 82
