Do you not see that We have appointed devils to incite those who deny the truth to disobedience? 83 Therefore be not in haste against them, We only number out to them a number (of days). 84 On the Day whereon We shall gather the God-feaing unto the Compassionate as an embassy. 85 And will drive the criminals to Hell in thirst 86 None will have power to intercede for them except one who obtains a promise from Ar-Rahman. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 This is certainly a monstrous lie! 89 Well-nigh the heavens are rent thereat and the earth cleft in sunder and the mountains fall down in pieces. 90 to ascribe a son to the Beneficent God. 91 It does not become the majesty of the Compassionate God to take to Himself a son: 92 There is no one in the heavens and the earth but comes before Ar-Rahman in all obedience. 93 indeed, He has full cognizance of them, and has numbered them with [unfailing] numbering; 94 and each one shall come to Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone. 95 Lo! those who believe and do good works, the Beneficent will appoint for them love. 96 and only to this end have We made this [divine writ] easy to understand, in thine own tongue, [O Prophet,] so that thou might convey thereby a glad tiding to the God-conscious, and warn thereby those who are given to [futile] contention: 97 But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them? 98
