T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not sent the Quran to make you, (Muhammad), miserable, 2 but only as a reminder to him who tears, 3 A revelation from Him who created the earth and the high ascending skies, 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah! no God there is but he! His are the names excellent. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 When he saw fire, he said to his family: Stop, for surely I see a fire, haply I may bring to you therefrom a live coal or find a guidance at the fire. 10 Then when he was come thereto, he was cried unto. O Musa! 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 "Behold, [although] I have willed to keep it hidden, the Last Hour is bound to come, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with what he strove for [in life]. 15 Do not let anyone who does not believe in it and follows his own desires turn you away from it and so bring you to ruin." 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, bring down leaves for my sheep with it and I need it for other reasons. 18 "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 Allah said:"Grasp it, and fear not, We shall return it to its former state, 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 “In order that We may show you Our great signs.” 23 And go to Pharaoh now for he has transgressed all bounds." 24
