T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 A revelation from Him who created the earth and the high ascending skies, 4 The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: 'Stay here, for I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a lighted torch or find at the fire guidance' 10 When he came near the fire he was called, "Moses, 11 I am your Lord! Take off your sandals, for you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. 12 “And I have chosen you, therefore listen carefully to what is divinely revealed to you.” 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 Lo! the Hour is surely coming. But I will to keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striveth (to achieve). 15 “Therefore never let one, who does not accept faith in it and follows his own desires, prevent you from accepting this, so then you become ruined.” 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 So he cast it down, and thereupon it turned into a sliding serpent. 20 [Allah] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition. 21 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness – one more sign.” 22 This We have done to show you some of Our greater miracles. 23 "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." 24
