T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Ha. 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 but as a reminder to he who fears. 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens, 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 Unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, as well as all that is between them and all that is beneath the sod. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. 8 Has the story of Moses come to you? 9 When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." 10 When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses! 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. 13 Lo! I, even I, am Allah, There is no Allah save Me. So serve Me and establish worship for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming. I almost conceal it, so that every soul will be recompensed for its labors. 15 Let none bar thee from it, that believes not in it but follows after his own caprice, or thou wilt perish. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 "It's my staff," he answered; "I lean on it, and fell leaves for my goats with it, and I have other uses for it." 18 He said: 'Moses, cast it down' 19 So he threw it down, and all of a sudden, it turned into a fast-moving serpent. 20 Allah said:"Grasp it, and fear not, We shall return it to its former state, 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
