T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Koran upon thee for thee to be unprosperous, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 the All Merciful settled on the throne. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 Allah! no God there is but he! His are the names excellent. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family, "Wait here. I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 Then when he was come thereto, he was cried unto. O Musa! 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired. 13 Verily I am God; there is no god but I; therefore serve Me, and perform the prayer of My remembrance. 14 Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives. 15 Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! 16 "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" 17 He said, "It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses." 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 He said: Grasp it and fear not. We shall return it to its former state. 21 "And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign, 22 That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, 23 "Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience, and has behaved as an arrogant, and as a tyrant)." 24
