T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] - 3 it is a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens, 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 Verily I am your Lord! Take off your shoes. You are in the sacred valley, Tuwa! 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! 16 What is that in your right hand, Moses' 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). 19 So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. 20 (Allah) said, "Seize it, and fear not: We shall return it at once to its former condition".. 21 "And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign, 22 That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
