T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 The Compassionate on the Throne is established. 5 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 God, there is no deity but Him. His are the most excellent names. 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family: "Hold on! I have just perceived a fire; perhaps I will bring a brand from it for you, or I will find some guidance at the fire about the way to follow." 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 I am your Lord! Take off your sandals, for you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you. Therefore, listen to what shall be revealed. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 So do not let those who do not believe in it and follow their vain desires, turn you away from it. 16 What is that in your right hand, Moses' 17 He said, "It is my rod: on it I lean; with it I beat down fodder for my flocks; and in it I find other uses." 18 He said: Cast it down, O Musa! 19 and he cast it down, and behold it was a serpent sliding. 20 Said He: "Take hold of it, and fear not: We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And face what is to come with patience, your hand will not be tarnished with blame: Another sign 22 so that We might make thee aware of some of Our greatest wonders. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
