T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 but only as a reminder to him who tears, 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The ever-merciful, established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 Be thou loud in thy speech, yet surely He knows the secret and that yet more hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." 10 When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses, 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 "Verily, the Hour is coming and My Will is to keep it hidden that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives. 15 Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! 16 And what is this in your right hand, O Musa! 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 (Allah) said, "Throw it, O Moses!" 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent.' 24
