He said: my Lord! expand for me my breast. 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 so that they may understand me. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 Aaron my brother 30 To strengthen me 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 so that we exalt You 33 and remember Thee without cease! 34 Verily, Thou seest all that is within us!" 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 ‘It has indeed been revealed to us that the punishment is upon the one who denies and turns away.’” 48 He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 Said Moses, 'The knowledge of them is with my Lord, in a Book; my Lord goes not astray, nor forgets -- 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
