Moses said: "Lord! Open my breast for me; 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 And appoint for me a minister from my household. 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 And share my task, 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 And remember You much. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 Place him in a chest and throw it into the river, and thereupon the river will cast him ashore, [and] one who is an enemy unto Me and an enemy unto him will adopt him. "And [thus early] I spread Mine Own love over thee - and [this] in order that thou might be formed under Mine eye. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 Go, both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds. 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 They both said, "Our Lord, We fear that he may commit some excess against us, or exceed all bounds in transgression." 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away. 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 (Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 To eat and feed your cattle. Surely there are signs in these for those who are wise. 54
