'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 And loose a knot from my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 By him confirm my strength 31 And let him share my task 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 and remember You much: 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 The twain said: O our Lord! verily we fear that he may hasten against us or wax exorbitant. 45 He said; fear not; verily I shall be with you twain: I shall hear and see. 46 So go to him and say: 'The two of us have indeed been sent by your Lord. So let the children of Israel come with us, and do not oppress them. We have come to you with a token from your Lord. Peace on him who follows the way of guidance. 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 He (Pharaoh) said: 'Moses, who is the Lord of you both' 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. 54
