And certainly Haroun had said to them before: O my people! you are only tried by it, and surely your Lord is the Beneficent Allah, therefore follow me and obey my order. 90 They replied: 'We will not stop; we will cling to it until Moses returns to us.' 91 Moses said, 'What prevented thee, Aaron, when thou sawest them in error, 92 That thou followedst me not! Hast thou disobeyed my command? 93 Aaron said, "Son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard nor by my head. I was afraid that you would say, 'You have caused dissension among the Children of Israel and did not pay heed to my words.'" 94 Moses asked: "O Sameri, what was the matter?" 95 He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me." 96 Musa said: begone thou! verily it shall be thine in life to say no contact; and verily thine is an appointment which thou shalt by no means fail. And look at thy god to which thou hast been assiduous; we shall surely burn it, and we shall scatter it into the sea a wide scattering. 97 Your God is only One, Allah. There is no god, except He, alone. His knowledge encompasses all things. 98 Thus We relate to you the history of past events, and We have given you a reminder [the Quran] from Us. 99 All who shall turn away from it will, verily, bear a [heavy] burden on the Day of Resurrection: 100 [Abiding] eternally therein, and evil it is for them on the Day of Resurrection as a load - 101 On the day when the Trumpet is blown and We shall assemble the guilty on that day, blue -eyed. 102 They shall consult together secretly: You did tarry but ten (centuries). 103 We know very well what they will say, when the best among them in knowledge and wisdom will say: "You stayed no longer than a day!" 104
