And undoubtedly Haroon had told them before it that, “O my people – you have needlessly fallen into trial because of this; and indeed your Lord is the Most Gracious, therefore follow me and obey my command.” 90 They said "So long as Moses does not come back we are not going to give it up, and we will remain devoted to it." 91 (Moses) said: "O Aaron! what kept thee back, when thou sawest them going wrong, 92 So that you did not follow me? Did you then disobey my order? 93 [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe [or await] my word.' " 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 He answered: "I have gained insight into something which they were unable to see: and so I took hold of a handful of the Apostle's teachings and cast it away: for thus has my mind prompted me [to act]." 96 [Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. 97 Your only deity is God, there is no deity but Him. His knowledge encompasses all things." 98 Thus We relate to you (O Muhammad SAW) some information of what happened before. And indeed We have given you from Us a Reminder (this Quran). 99 Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden, 100 which they shall bear forever. It will be a grievous burden for them on the Day of Judgement, 101 The Day whereon the trumpet will be blown into, and We shall gather the culprits on that Day blear-eyed, 102 Whispering secretly among themselves, “You have not stayed on earth but for ten days.” 103 We know well what they will say when the most upright among them will say: "You did not tarry more than a day." 104
