The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness. 1 no Remembrance from their Lord comes to them lately renewed, but they listen to it yet playing, 2 With hearts preoccupied. And they confer in secret. The wrong-doers say: Is this other than a mortal like you? Will ye then succumb to magic when ye see (it)? 3 Say: "My Lord knoweth (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth: He is the One that heareth and knoweth (all things)." 4 Rather they said, “These are confused dreams, but in fact he has fabricated it – but in fact he is a poet; so he must bring us some sign, like those who were sent before.” 5 Not one city that We destroyed before them believed; what then, will they not believe? 6 Before thee, also, the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: If ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message. 7 nor did We fashion them as bodies that ate not food, neither were they immortal; 8 Then We fulfilled Our promise to them and We saved them and those with them whom We pleased, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. 9 Now We have revealed unto you a Scripture wherein is your Reminder. Have ye then no sense? 10
