The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NEAR HAS COME the reckoning for men, but they turn away in remissness. 1 Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,- 2 With their hearts occupied (with evil things) those who do wrong, conceal their private counsels, (saying): "Is this (Muhammad SAW) more than a human being like you? Will you submit to magic while you see it?" 3 He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." 4 Nay, but they say: 'A hotchpotch of nightmares! Nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet! Now therefore let him bring us a sign, even as the ancient ones were sent as Messengers.' 5 Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe? 6 And We did not send (Prophets) before you except men, to whom We sent divine revelations – therefore, O people, ask the people of knowledge if you do not know. 7 We did not make their bodies immune to hunger, nor were they immortal. 8 then We made true the promise We gave them and We delivered them, and whomsoever We would; and We destroyed the prodigal. 9 We have sent a Book, (the Quran), which is an honor for you. Will you then not understand? 10
