The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ NEAR HAS COME the reckoning for men, but they turn away in remissness. 1 no Remembrance from their Lord comes to them lately renewed, but they listen to it yet playing, 2 With their hearts occupied (with evil things) those who do wrong, conceal their private counsels, (saying): "Is this (Muhammad SAW) more than a human being like you? Will you submit to magic while you see it?" 3 He said: My Lord knows what is spoken in the heaven and the earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 4 Some say: 'No, it is only mixed dreams' 'No, he has forged it himself', or, 'no, he is a poet! Let him bring us a sign, just as the ancient ones were sent as Messengers' 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 (O Muhammad), even before you We never sent any other than human beings as Messengers, and to them We sent revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death. 8 Then We made good unto them the promise; so We delivered them and those whom We willed, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 [O MEN!] We have now bestowed upon you from on high a divine writ containing all that you ought to bear in mind will you not, then, use your reason? 10
