The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Reckoning for mankind is drawing near, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 Comes not unto them an admonition (a chapter of the Quran) from their Lord as a recent revelation but they listen to it while they play, 2 In sport being their hearts. And those who do wrong keep secret their private discourse this is but a human being like unto yourselves; will ye then betake yourselves to magic while ye know? 3 He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." 4 They say: "Nay, these are confused dreams; nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign, even as the Messengers of the past were sent with signs." 5 Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe? 6 Never did We send a message before you but through a man, whom We inspired. If you do not know, then ask the keepers of the oracles of God. 7 And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth]. 8 We then fulfilled the promise to them, therefore rescued them and whomever We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 We have sent down to you a Book which has a reminder for you. Do you not understand? 10
