Did not the disbelievers observe that the heavens and the earth were together, so We parted them, and we made every living thing from water? So will they not accept faith? 30 We set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should sway under them, and We placed therein passages for paths so that they might find their way. 31 We have made the heaven a well-secured canopy; yet still they turn away from Our signs. 32 It is He who created night and day, the sun and the moon, revolving on its orbit. 33 We have given no man everlastingness before you. So then if you die, will they live ever after? 34 Every living being must taste death; and We test you with harm and with good – a trial; and to Us only you have to return. 35 And when those who disbelieve behold thee they only take thee up for mockery: is this he who mentioneth your gods? while in the mention of the compassionate they are themselves blasphemers. 36 Man has been created hasty; very soon I shall show you My signs, do not be impatient. 37 They say, "When shall the Day of Judgment come to pass if you are true in your claim?" 38 If only those who deny the truth knew the time when they would not be able to ward off the fire neither from their faces nor from their backs. They will not be helped! 39 The fire will suddenly strike and confound them. They will not be able to repel it, nor will they be given any respite. 40 Other messengers have been mocked before you, but those who scoffed were overwhelmed by the very thing they had mocked. 41
