Say: "Who guards you from Ar-Rahman by night and by day?" Yet from a mention of their Lord they turn away. 42 Do they have other deities who can defend them against Us? They cannot even help themselves, neither can they be aided against Us. 43 We have been providing these men and their fathers with the means of enjoyment for a long time. Have they not ever considered that We populated the earth and then caused many of the inhabitants to pass away? Can they have any success (in their wickedness)? 44 Say, "I only warn you by revelation." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned. 45 Were only the slightest whiff from your Lord's punishment to touch them, they would cry out: "Woe to us; we were indeed wrong-doers." 46 We shall maintain proper justice on the Day of Judgment. No soul will be wronged the least. For a deed even as small as a mustard seed one will duly be recompensed. We are efficient in maintaining the account. 47 And We verily gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion (of right and wrong) and a light and a Reminder for those who keep from evil, 48 who stand in awe of their Sustainer although He is beyond the reach of human perception, and who tremble at the thought of the Last Hour. 49 And this [Qur'an] is a blessed message which We have sent down.
