1/2 Hizb 33

۞ And indeed We bestowed Ibrahim with guidance from the beginning, and We were Aware of him. 51 when he said to his father and his people, 'What are these statues unto which you are cleaving?' 52 They said, “We found our forefathers worshipping them.” 53 Abraham said, "Indeed, you and your fathers have been clearly misguided." 54 They said, "Have you brought us the Truth, or are you one of those who jest?" 55 He said, "Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. It was He who created them and I testify to this fact". 56 And, by Allah, I shall circumvent your idols after ye have gone away and turned your backs. 57 Then he broke them all into pieces, sparing only the supreme one among them that they may possibly return to him. 58 They said: Who hath done this to our gods? Surely it must be some evil-doer. 59 They said: We heard a youth called Ibrahim speak of them. 60 [The others] said: "Then bring him before the peoples eyes, so that they might bear witness [against him]!" 61 They said, “Did you do this to our Gods, O Ibrahim?” 62 He answered: "Rather it was this supreme one who has done it. So ask them, if they can speak." 63 Then they turned to one another and said, "It is you yourselves who are in the wrong," 64 Thereafter they were made to turn over upon their heads, saying, assuredly thou knowest that they speak not. 65 He said: Worship ye then instead of Allah that which cannot profit you at all, nor harm you? 66 Fie on you and all that ye worship instead of Allah! Have ye then no sense? 67 They exclaimed: "Burn him, and [thereby] succour your gods, if you are going to do [anything]!" 68 We said, “O fire, become cool and peaceful upon Ibrahim.” 69 They had sought to do evil to him, but We caused them to be the worst losers, 70 And We rescued him and Lout (Lot) to the land which We have blessed for the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 71 And We bestowed on him Isaac, and Jacob as an additional gift, and made them righteous. 72 And We made them leaders who guide by Our command, and We sent them the divine revelation to do good deeds and to keep the prayer established and to give charity; and they used to worship Us. 73 And We gave Lut the kingdom and knowledge, and We rescued him from the township that committed vile deeds; indeed those evil people were disobedient. 74 And We admitted him into Our mercy; indeed he is among those who deserve Our proximity. 75
