۞ And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Ibrahim his rectitude aforetime, and him We had ever known. 51 when he said to his father and his people, 'What are these statues unto which you are cleaving?' 52 They said, 'We found our fathers serving them.' 53 Abraham said, "Indeed, you and your fathers have been clearly misguided." 54 They said: "Have you brought us the truth, or are you one of those who play about?" 55 He said: Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them; and I am of those who testify unto that. 56 Abraham said to himself, "By God! I will devise a plan against their idols when they are away." 57 So he broke them into pieces, except the chief of them, that haply they may return to it. 58 They said: Who has done this to our gods? Most surely he is one of the unjust. 59 They said: We heard a youth called Ibrahim speak of them. 60 They said, 'Bring him before the people's eyes; haply they shall bear witness.' 61 They said, “Did you do this to our Gods, O Ibrahim?” 62 He said: rather he hath wrought it, this big one of them; so question them, if they ever speak. 63 So they turned towards their own selves and (inwardly) said, “Indeed you yourselves are unjust.” 64 But then they reversed their minds: 'You know they do not speak' 65 (Abraham) said, "Do ye then worship, besides Allah, things that can neither be of any good to you nor do you harm? 66 Fie upon you and that you serve apart from God! Do you not understand?' 67 They said: 'Burn him and help your gods, if you are going to do anything' 68 'O Fire' We said, 'be coolness and safety for Abraham' 69 And they intended for him harm, but We made them the greatest losers. 70 and We saved him and Lot and brought him to the land upon which We had bestowed Our blessings for all the people of the world. 71 And We gave him Isaac and Jacob in superfluity, and every one made We righteous 72 and appointed them leaders to guide by Our Command and We revealed to them to do good deeds, and to establish the prayer, and the giving of charity, and they were for Us worshipers. 73 And to Lut, too, We gave Judgment and Knowledge, and We saved him from the town which practised abominations: truly they were a people given to Evil, a rebellious people. 74 We admitted him to Our mercy; he was a righteous man. 75
