And (remember) Noah, when he supplicated to Us, We answered him, and We saved him and his nation from great distress, 76 We helped him against the people who said Our revelations were mere lies. They were a bad people and We drowned them all. 77 Tell of David and Solomon who both passed judgement on the field into which some people's sheep had strayed [and grazed] at night. We bore witness to their judgement. 78 for, [though] We made Solomon understand the case [more profoundly] yet We vouchsafed unto both of them sound judgment and knowledge [of right and wrong]. And We caused the mountains to join David in extolling Our limitless glory, and likewise the birds: for We are able to do [all things]. 79 And We taught him the art of making the coats of mail for you that it may protect you from your violence; are ye then thankful? 80 (It was Our power that made) the violent (unruly) wind flow (tamely) for Solomon, to his order, to the land which We had blessed: for We do know all things. 81 And some of the satans dived for him and others did work as well. We were watching over them. 82 ۞ And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful." 83 We therefore heard his prayer and removed the adversity that had afflicted him, and We gave him his family and in addition bestowed along with them a similar number, by mercy from Ourselves – and an advice for the people who worship. 84 AND [remember] Ishmael and Idris and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto God]: they all were among those who are patient in adversity, 85 We encompassed them in Our mercy; they were righteous people. 86 Remember the man in the whale [Jonah] when he went away in anger, thinking We had no power over him. But he cried out in the darkness, "There is no deity but You. Glory be to You! I was indeed wrong." 87 So We answered him, and delivered him out of grief; even so do, We deliver the believers. 88 And Zachariah, when he cried unto his Lord: My Lord! Leave me not childless, though Thou art the Best of inheritors. 89 So We answered him, and gave him John, curing his wife (of sterility). They raced with each other in good works and called on Us out of yearning and awe, and they were humble to Us. 90 And remember the woman who maintained her chastity, We therefore breathed Our Spirit into her and made her and her son a sign for the entire world. 91 VERILY, [O you who believe in Me,] this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: worship, then, Me [alone]! 92 But they have broken up and differed as regards their religion among themselves. (And) they all shall return to Us. 93
