And Noah -- when he called before, and We answered him, and delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And We helped him against the people who rejected Our signs as lies. They were a wicked people indeed, so We drowned them one and all. 77 Tell of David and Solomon who both passed judgement on the field into which some people's sheep had strayed [and grazed] at night. We bore witness to their judgement. 78 We guided Solomon to the right verdict, and We had granted each of them judgement and knowledge. We made the mountains and the birds celebrate the praise of Allah with David. It was We Who did all this. 79 And We taught him the making of coats of mail for you, that they might protect you in your wars; will you then be grateful? 80 And to Solomon the wind, strongly blowing, that ran at his command unto the land that We had blessed; and We had knowledge of everything; 81 We also subjected to him some of the jinn who dived for him in the sea and performed other tasks; We kept a watch over them. 82 ۞ (Remember) Job when he called to his Lord: "I am afflicted with distress, and You are the most compassionate of all." 83 So We heard his cry and relieved him of the misery he was in. We restored his family to him, and along with them gave him others similar to them as a grace from Us and reminder for those who are obedient. 84 And (remember) Isma'il, Idris, and Zul-kifl, all (men) of constancy and patience; 85 And We admitted them to Our Mercy. Verily, they were of the righteous. 86 AND [remember] him of the great fish when he went off in wrath, thinking that We had no power over him! But then heeded out in the deep darkness [of his distress]: "There is no deity save Thee! Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! Verily, I have done wrong!" 87 So We answered him, and We delivered him from the distress, and Thus do We deliver the believers. 88 And Zakariya, when he cried to his Lord: O my Lord leave me not alone; and Thou art the best of inheritors. 89 So We listened to him: and We granted him Yahya: We cured his wife's (Barrenness) for him. These (three) were ever quick in emulation in good works; they used to call on Us with love and reverence, and humble themselves before Us. 90 (Remember) her who preserved her chastity, into whom We breathed a new life from Us, and made her and her son a token for mankind. 91 Verily this community of yours is a single community, and I am your Lord; so worship Me. 92 And they cut up their affair among them; all are unto Us returners. 93
