Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ O people, fear your Lord; indeed the earthquake of the Last Day is a tremendous thing. 1 On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated while they are not intoxicated; but the punishment of Allah is severe. 2 Among people there are those, who without knowledge, dispute about Allah and follow every rebel satan, 3 about which it has been decreed that whoever entrusts himself to it, him will it lead astray and guide towards the suffering of the blazing flame! 4 O Mankind! if ye be in doubt respecting the Resurrection, then We have created you of the dust, then of a drop, then of clot, then of a piece of flesh, formed and unformed, that We might manifest unto you Our power. And We settle in the wombs that which We will until a term determined. Then We bring you forth as babes, then We let you reach your maturity. And of you is he who dieth, and of you is he who is brought back to the most abject age, so that after knowing he knoweth not aught. And thou beholdest the earth withered up, and when We send down thereon water, it stirreth and swelleth, and it groweth every luxuriant kind of growth. 5 that is because God is the truth. It is He who gives life to the dead and He has the power to will anything. 6 The Hour will come without a doubt, and God will raise those who are dead. 7 Some dispute about Allah, though they have neither knowledge nor guidance, nor an illuminating Book. 8 Bending his neck, that he may lead astray from the way of Allah; his shall be humiliation in the world, and We shall make him taste on the Day of Judgment the torment of burning. 9 [God will say],"This is the reward of your misdeeds. God is not unjust to His servants." 10
