Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ O mankind! fear your Lord! for the convulsion of the Hour (of Judgment) will be a thing terrible! 1 The Day ye shall see it, every mother giving suck shall forget her suckling-babe, and every pregnant female shall drop her load (unformed): thou shalt see mankind as in a drunken riot, yet not drunk: but dreadful will be the Wrath of Allah. 2 Some people argue about God without knowledge and follow every rebellious devil. 3 Who, it is inscribed, will beguile whoever follows him, and lead him to the torment of Hell. 4 O mankind! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then verily! We have created you (i.e. Adam) from dust, then from a Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge i.e. offspring of Adam), then from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood) then from a little lump of flesh, some formed and some unformed (miscarriage), that We may make (it) clear to you (i.e. to show you Our Power and Ability to do what We will). And We cause whom We will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then We bring you out as infants, then (give you growth) that you may reach your age of full strength. And among you there is he who dies (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the miserable old age, so that he knows nothing after having known. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells and puts forth every lovely kind (of growth). 5 that is because God is the truth. It is He who gives life to the dead and He has the power to will anything. 6 And because the Hour will come, there is no doubt thereof; and because Allah will raise those who are in the graves. 7 Some people argue about God without knowledge, guidance, and an enlightening Book. 8 Turning away in pride to beguile (men) from the way of Allah. For him in this world is ignominy, and on the Day of Resurrection We make him taste the doom of burning. 9 That is on account of what you had done in the past; yet God is not unjust to His creatures. 10
