The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
