The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 Who guard their sex 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We created of the drop, a clot (of congealed blood) and We created the clot into bitesize tissue, then We created the bitesize tissue into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it an other creation. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
