The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 pay their religious tax 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 They are the inheritors. 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
