The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then will be raised up on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 The tree that grows on Mount Sinai yields oil and seasoning for those who eat. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
