The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 pay their religious tax 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that, at length ye will die 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
